Independent software architect

When architecture becomes delivery risk, I make the next technical move clear.

For teams dealing with low-latency data, distributed crawling, stalled delivery or internal systems that need to stay simple.

Project Notes

Selected work where the architecture was the risk.

Latency, scale, stalled delivery, enterprise constraints and simple systems.

How I Work

The value is in the decisions that survive implementation.

The answer cannot stop at a diagram. The decision has to hold up in pull requests, delivery pressure and the codebase the team already has.

Advice is not enough.

On the market-data POC, I was the only engineer. On recovery work, I led implementation instead of writing advice for someone else to execute.

Bad paths need to be cut.

One recovery project included a 14,000-line CMS integration PR. The right answer was to change direction, not make the PR nicer.

Existing teams come first.

Enterprise core-service work is not a place for ego. Changes have to fit the architecture, review process and people who will maintain them.

Simple is often the hard decision.

The admin platform did not need a grand architecture. It needed a React frontend, a REST backend and one person making both sides fit.

Where I Fit

Use this kind of help when the cost of being wrong is high.

Architecture review, backend implementation, project recovery or a small number of decisions that need someone senior enough to own the tradeoff.

Software Architecture

Choose the shape of the system, then stay involved long enough to see where the design breaks.

Technical Leadership

Make the next technical decision when the team is stuck between bad options.

Distributed Backend Systems

Work on systems where latency, blocking, unreliable inputs or operational behavior are part of the problem.

Project Recovery

Take over when missed milestones, bad architecture or a damaged customer relationship are now engineering problems.

Hands-on Engineering

Write code, review code, debug production behavior and make architecture decisions with implementation details in view.

Ongoing Engineering Judgment

Stay available when the next hard decision appears and the team needs an outside principal engineer.
